5th and 6th class took part in a Tag Rugby Blitz, along with schools from Churchtown, Dunlavin and  Gaelscoil Áth Í, on the school campus on 29th Feb. Many thanks to the rugby club, and especially to Jim Short, for organising what was a very enjoyable morning for the pupils.

We celebrated World Book Day on 1st March by dressing up as our favourite book  characters and spending lots of extra time browsing and reading.

A big thank you to Susie Mahon, who visited 1st and 2nd class  on 5th Mar to tell us all about life in India. 1st and 2nd class have been learning about , and have completed projects on India so Susie’s talk was very interesting.

5th and 6th class competed in a GAA Blitz, along with the other schools on the campus, on 9th March, as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge. All play was conducted ‘as Gaeilge’.Go raibh maith agat to Sinéad and all in the ~Gaelscoil for organising this.

We had our school photographs taken on 14th March.

We are currently collecting clean bottle tops and lids (plastic and metal, not glass and no sharp edges) as Maths resources for the Infant classroom and welcome all donations.

A reminder that the Athy Model School Annual Table Quiz, organised by the Parents Association, takes place on Friday 30th March in Athy Golf club at 8 pm. All are welcome.
